Araceli

Araceli, a 21-year-old Mexican transgender woman was kicked out of her home because of her gender identity. Shunned by her conservative catholic parents and without money or help, she resorts to begging on the streets of Los Angeles. One day a madam who goes by the name of Bambi offers to take Araceli in, but on one condition: that she works as a prostitute in exchange for the money and shelter she provides. The idea of survival sex work troubles Araceli because of her Catholic background and the past abuses she has suffered. She ultimately accepts Bambi’s offer as a means of staying alive. However, when it is too late to turn back, she realizes her situation isn’t any better than before. She has money, but is now trapped with no way out.
